The position is within a small team in London, looking to invest in minority as well as majority situations in the US and Western Europe. The investment organisation has around $3bn AUM and invests in listed equities, real estate and VC – whereas this role will fully focus on direct private equity investments only, the fourth pillar of their investment efforts. Over the last decades, they have amassed a large amount of positions in their portfolio in emerging markets, but are now looking to diversify their investment strategy further.
Given it's a newly setup office, the successful candidate would get a lot of exposure in terms of meeting CEOs and CIOs of leading investment firms, having the opportunity to participate in relevant conferences and events and taking part/executing due diligence processes as well as developing a strong view on strategic issues for the portfolio and the investment office. Some travel will be required.
The successful candidate will most likely have 2-3 years of transaction driven experience from either an investment bank or Big 4 (incl. familiarity in TS, FDD, M&A etc) OR is coming from a management consulting firm with significant exposure to private equity related projects. European languages are advantageous but perfect fluency in English, in writing and speaking, is essential.
