Department Profile The EMEA Risk Management Division is responsible for the independent identification, analysis, reporting and escalation of all market, credit and operational risk exposures arising from UK Group business activities, acting independently of business management and providing an effective challenge process.
As part of the EMEA Risk Management Division, the Market Risk Department identifies, measures, monitors, advises, challenges and controls market risks generated by the UK Group market-making and banking activities, acting independently of business management and providing an effective challenge process. The Market Risk Department comprises of various functions including Risk Managers, Stress Testing, Legal Entity Portfolio, Projects and Middle Office (data management).
Job Description Morgan Stanley is seeking an Associate to join its Market Risk department, based in London to provide business support. Project experience and good communication skills are essential.
Core responsibilities will include:
Engagement in key risk deliverables/projects (e.g. Intraday, Solvent Wind Down, Data Quality).
Cross asset class project on-boarding/off-boarding including planning, requirement aggregation, oversight of milestones and reporting.
Maintenance of internal regulatory calendar and deliverables.
Development and review of departmental reporting including team communications and submissions to governance committee.
Review and maintenance of departmental entitlements to ensure appropriateness.
Engagement in Audits and other process validation testing.
Assisting in the development, enhancement and review of market risk reporting ensuring consistency and appropriateness.
Maintenance of Business Continuity Planning (including plan updates and testing)
Good academic background, including a degree.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple deliverables whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail.
Proactive with the ability to work effectively on both an individual basis and as part of the wider team.
Attention to detail.
Ability to co-ordinate across multiple teams.
Project management experience.
Strong communication skills and ability to engage with a variety of different stakeholders.
