Our client is a very successful asset management firm who are now looking to add an Investment Analyst to their Multi-Manager team. In summary, the role will involve the following: Selection of external investment managers
Developing and maintaining information on investment managers, and maintaining contact with investment analysts in comparable investing institutions
Maintaining contact with investment managers, consultants, information providers and intermediaries (including by travel, which may be international) to enable potential participation in new investment opportunities.
Evaluating and recommending whether specific opportunities should be selected, and commenting on the terms offered, to enable a decision to be made whether and how much to invest.
Assisting in building and maintaining data systems in connection with these activities. Maintaining relationships with selected external investment managers
Undertaking regular contact with invested managers and recording relevant information to enable active participation as an investor. 25% Monitoring investment performance
Recording investment results and prospects to enable performance to be monitored and compared with expectations.
Obtaining information about manager and asset class performance and analysing the reasons for outcomes as a basis for future investment decisions.
Assisting in building and maintaining data systems in connection with this.
Obtaining information on specified investment benchmark indices and relevant financial market prices and conditions to provide comparisons with the performance of investments made within the CUEF.
Obtaining and maintaining information on relevant practices in comparable investing institutions to identify best practice. Managing transactions
Providing input to cash flow forecasts in relation to specified investment classes in the portfolio to inform a basis for the efficient use of the CUEF's resources. 5% 5 Investment Board support
Preparing reports for the Investment Board and others, and for the University's annual financial statements, and gathering and maintaining relevant statistics and commentaries. Required Attributes and Qualifications The successful applicant will be required to have: - Experience as an Analyst or Portfolio Manager in a Fund of Funds/ Multi Manager firm or a Consultant from a firm such as Mercer - a degree level qualification; - either a relevant masters degree or experience working in the investment sector; - advanced mathematical skills and analytical ability; - an enquiring mind and keen interest in the investment world; - strong written and other communication and presentation skills; and - he ability to form and maintain a multitude of professional relationships (including internationally).
