To perform operational matters, assist in any task that is required to support the bank's advisory and discretionary activity in Alternatives. Support the bank's general Alternatives activity (i.e. back office, corporate actions, credit, reporting etc.).Assist in broadening AIG's relationships with RMs, current clients and prospective clients.
Principal Accountabilities: Impact on the Business
Identify and address any areas which can improve the efficiency of or reduce the risk of the bank's hedge fund activity
Assist in identifying and implementing new working processes involved in the role to improve/optimise the efficiency, effectiveness and quality of the services provided. (i.e. capacity management, flows tracking, adhoc trading support solutions...)
Keep up with changing rules and regulations of the industry
Customers / Stakeholders
Monitor internal and external capacity and ensure strict application of the allocation policy rules
Ensure good processing of voluntary corporate actions though communication with research, PMs and back-office
Centralize requests for the opening of securities
Handle PMs RMs enquiries which involve operational considerations
Assist in the troubleshooting activity for AIG Portfolio Managers, RMs and HAIL
Maintain side pocket secondary market activity for Hedge Funds and PE/RE products
Assist as requested in AIG products launches (FoFs, PE, RE, mandates, services)
Assist RMs/ICs with AIG products after sale (reporting, operational issues etc.)
Leadership & Teamwork
Liaising with back office and relevant counter-parties to resolve booking and trading issues
Assisting with client queries on reports and bank statements
Assisting in resolving and/or handling difficult/exceptional cases arising from the Hedge Fund investing activity when required
Maintain effective and constructive interaction with HOST Funds Operations teams
Operational Effectiveness & Control
Assist in ensuring efficient and robust operational environment through combination of infrastructure, process, team knowledge and controls
Maintain a regular contact with the back office for service requirements, troubleshooting and process changes/improvements
Maintain pressure on operational losses reduction and keep tightening up processes to mitigate identified operational risks.
Cover activity and responsibility of the head of portfolio management support in his absence. Interact closely with Back-Office to ensure that AIG Switzerland production requirements are met, including the transition to the new global platform.
Role Context Required to operate with minimal direct supervision Must be prepared to assume direct responsibility for all Portfolio Management Support functions Required to represent AIG business and operational interests both internally and externally.

Observation of Internal Controls Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
Understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.
AIG CH is part of the wider Alternative Investment Group (which includes HAIL and HMG) which forms part of the part of the Private Bank Investment Group. AIG CH advises on over USD 5 bn in hedge fund assets and generates over USD 13 mn in revenue per annum, servicing primarily clients of the Swiss Private Bank AIG CH an employs roughly 20 full time employees.
Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
Thorough understanding of bank's Hedge Fund Operational Area
Strong operational background in either fund of hedge funds, single manager house, Alternative Products management firm
