Job Summary Reporting to specific originators, under overall direction of Managing Director, the Analyst / Associate will work side-by-side with seasoned professionals on a substantial volume of transactions. The Analyst / Associate will work on live transactions as they move from origination to closing and interact with a wide range of industry participants. Essential Job Functions
Providing support for the origination, structuring and closing of new financing transactions (including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA/HUD, bridge, and other financing programs).
Review and analyze loan transaction packages for preliminary qualification.
Prepare detailed financial analysis (current and historical income, expense analysis and lease summary/rent roll) for each prospective multifamily investment.
Prepare quotes and application packages, term sheets, agreements, and contracts.
Prepare market research and analysis.
Provide credible recommendations to supervisors and senior management based on market research and analysis.
Developing and updating project financial models, while coordinating with the project team, applying a high degree of detail to prepare a relevant financial analysis.
Acting as finance project manager to coordinate the work of the production, underwriting and legal team, and resolve issues and get transactions to execution. Assisting originator to manage customer relationship throughout the due diligence process.
Assisting underwriters throughout the due diligence process by gathering required property and credit documents and updating the underwriting workbook.
Perform as a key member of closing team with close monitoring of quality control, coordination of third parties and resolution of issues.
Preparing regular project status report updates. Log all transactions in a proprietary database in a timely manner and ensure it is up to date.
Writing, editing and production of reports to clients and potential financing sources.
Interface with production team, senior management, underwriting team, legal counsel, and developers/owners and inspect properties as needed.
Assist Originators with prospecting and soliciting new clients.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, Real Estate, Business Administration, or applicable field required. Experience and Qualifications
One to three years of real estate and/or finance experience.
Understanding of multifamily rental property asset class.
Working knowledge of affordable housing finance, deal structuring, LIHTC or bond financing preferred.
Strong computer skills and proficiency with MS Office applications. Advanced excel and financial modeling skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain relationships both internally and externally.
Ability to work independently while functioning as part of a team.
Other Skills Requires a self-motivated, team player who has strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-moving environment with excellent management and business literacy skills. Takes initiative to identify and anticipate project needs and implement action.
