Leading investment bank seeks Technical Writer to join their software engineering team to support communications on behalf of various team members including the Global CIO.
The ideal candidate may have a degree in English or Journalism with experience in a technology setting. Or you may have a Computer Science degree with on the job-writing experience.
You will also need to demonstrate a track record of work in a technical writing or editing position.
The successful technical writer will demonstrate the following:-
Ability to learn complex technical concepts quickly
Ability to write, in explanatory and procedural styles, for technical and non-technical audience
Strong corporate presentation skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences
Facility with graphics, diagramming, and presentation products
Proficiency in standard office software, including Microsoft Office
Experience with content management systems, workflows, and document-delivery method
Excellent command of the English language, both written and oral, with attention to detail; proofreading and visual layout skills a plus
Ability to describe technical concepts and present them in a clear, professional and concise manner in both oral and written forms
Organisational awareness and ability to collaborate across different levels and of the organisation.
Ability to rapidly assimilate and adapt new methodologies into executable workflows
Basic familiarity with programming and markup languages
Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle
Demonstrable analytical and product management, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into operational and project requirements
Proactive and self-motivated
You will work to develop a range of collateral, from user procedures through to reference guides, as well as help write clear and unambiguous user-interface text and online help. You will also work with internal teams to foster collaboration in defining product and documentation requirements. Relationship development and management skills are key.
