The role will have a generalist focus, covering both equities and credit in Europe and the US.
The candidate must have very strong analytical, statistical, modelling and presentation skills and be able to generate investment ideas across merger arbitrage, equity special situations and complex credit situations.
Specific Responsibilities Include: - Research: Identify and source global long and short, equity and credit catalyst driven investments across Europe and internationally - Analysis: Perform primary, fundamental investment analysis utilising a comprehensive range of valuation techniques; conduct due diligence, including company-specific, competitor and industry analysis, identify and assess value catalysts; construct complex models financial models to assess special situation investments - Prepare and assist in the delivery of investment presentations for internal and external constituencies - Must keep up to date with financial products, legislation and requirements for compliance with the relevant regulatory authority.
Minimum Job Qualifications: - Minimum of 5 years' investment banking experience in an M&A capacity with Tier 1 global investment bank - Candidates must also have buy-side event driven investment experience across international financial markets - Candidates must be skilled at building complex operating financial models - Outstanding academic achievements, including 1st class degree (or equivalent) in finance or science from a top tier university - Have been approved for the CF30 controlled function - Outstanding fundamental, analytical, statistical, modelling skill sets - Advanced Excel skills.
