This exciting role is based within the Business Relationship Management ("BRM") group in London, which leads the marketing and business development efforts for Fitch Rating's corporate finance rating franchise.
Reporting to the Senior Director of the EMEA Financial Institutions Group ("FIG") BRM for London, this motivated and detail orientated individual will support marketing outreach activities undertaken by the team in developing Fitch's FIG franchise in Northern Europe and wider afield in EMEA.
The candidate will be responsible for supporting the marketing efforts of team members in the FIG BRM team. The principal objective of the team is to generate new Corporate Finance rating mandates through targeted marketing.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Researching and developing marketing opportunities
Working in partnership with senior team members this role will involve assisting with the identification and analysis of potential new issuers and developing successful outreach strategies. As part of this the individual will review market share data, press and other data sources to help identify new opportunities for the team.
Organising marketing meetings
Help with organising issuer and other external marketing meetings for senior team members and preparing appropriate background information as required. Over time, to take an active role in participating in marketing meetings and interacting with external relationships as required. Ability to pick the phone up and develop relationships is advantageous.
Preparation of marketing materials
To prepare pitch books and develop other marketing materials as required in support FIG BRM team marketing efforts.
Ability to analyse capital markets data using systems (i.e. Bloomberg, Reuters, Dealogic, etc) to monitor market activity, identify trends relevant to Fitch Rating's commercial efforts to support BRM's wider marketing strategy is advantageous.
Business planning, reporting and budgeting
In conjunction with the accounts team, produce monthly and annual management information and reporting for the EMEA region (knowledge of accounts or financial reporting would be advantageous). Work with senior FIG BRM management to compile annual budgets and business plans.
Qualifications and experience:
Demonstrable knowledge of preparing marketing materials using Microsoft Word and Powerpoint in a sales team environment
Strong Excel skills with demonstrable knowledge of data research and analysis, showing excellent attention to detail
Exposure to debt capital markets and/or corporate finance and/or data analytics gained through having worked in related roles and environments would be advantageous
Knowledge or aptitude to work with market data systems such as Bloomberg, ThomsonReuters, Dealogic etc. advantageous
Knowledge of CRM systems, specifically Salesforce would be highly useful
Budgeting and accounts experience is advantageous.
Strong communication and presentation skills, verbal & written
Self-starter with strong delivery ethos and first class organisational skills
Strong time management ethos
Ability to work independently to deadlines within a strategic framework, with supervision and guidance from senior team members
