About the Role:
The Investment Data Services area in Asset Management is looking for an experienced Senior Analyst to learn the details of our diversified product offering, including Equities, Fixed Income, Real Estate, Timber, Agriculture, Private Eq/Private FI, etc., totaling over $950B; the availability of related data, and methods of responding to complex data requests; including multi-asset class structures utilizing privates. The candidate will be instrumental in working with the current staff in satisfying complex data requests; working with IT to prioritize & implement the list of outstanding system enhancements, etc.; as well as contributing with and implementing ideas to improve the efficiency of the existing reporting processes.
Learn details around satisfying the myriad of complex data requests and contribute to satisfying such requests as well as reviewing and approving the work of others.
Produce and implement ideas for improving the effectiveness of satisfying complex requests, though tactical as well as strategic solutions.
Work with QA and IT staff to resolve any identified discrepancies or errors in data received into data warehouse on a monthly basis.
Work with IT to resolve any identified data issues in data warehouse.
Broader responsibilities include:
Interacting with producers of data to highlight issues or inconsistencies in data or methodologies, to request the timely production of an artifact or to escalate short-comings in the ability to produce certain data sets;
Collaborating with internal clients who make data requests to improve the 'ad-hoc request experience' by modifying systems and processes to meet their feedback;
Helping to develop the team to be able to perform higher levels of analysis to ease the strain on subject-matter-experts, and
Identifying areas of opportunity for the IT strategic solution to improve and expand the level of data to bring Nuveen to a more competitive level.
Bachelor's degree in Finance or related Business or Quant degree.
At least 10 years of experience working in Financial Services.
Experience in financial reporting and a strong understanding of securities data, including alternatives, real estate, private equity, closed-end funds, etc.
Strong experience/proficiency with Microsoft Excel (including Pivot tables & vlookup function).
Self-starter with ability to liaison with a broad group of stakeholders including Client Relationship, Product, RFP, Marketing, Portfolio Managers, Plan Consultant Relations, Compliance, Risk, IT and other groups.
Excellent communication and analytical skills.
Master's degree in Finance or related Business or Quant degree.
Experience/proficiency with SharePoint, Tableau, Barclay's Point, FactSet, Bloomberg, Lipper Analytics and Morningstar is a plus.
