Handle Hong Kong & overseas securities, bonds and unit trusts settlement
Pre-match trade with settlement counterparty
Monitor settlement problems and pro-actively seek viable solutions
Daily reconciliation of stock and money positions after each settlement run
Handle related upstream / downstream functions like IPO processing, stamp duty payment, prepare orders for Units Trust subscription or redemption, re-register physical shares upon settlement, follow up any dividend claims on cum-dividend transactions etc
Monitoring funding and any credit requirements
Liaise with counterparty / other department for issues relating to securities settlement
Monitor related market developments, regulatory changes and share information or experience with team members
Contribute to system and processing enhancements, participate in UAT tests and other ad-hoc projects
Degree holder or above, with SFC Qualifications for handling regulated activities Types 1 & 4
At least 2 years experience with local and overseas stocks, bonds and funds settlement
Strong technical knowledge about the related market infrastructure, industry norms, clearing and settlement mechanism on both local and international depository platforms, default penalties, common tax rules etc
A good team-player with strong communication, interpersonal and coordinating skills
Able to work independently and effectively under pressure
Pro-active in identifying and resolving problems
Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese, proficient in Mandarin preferred
Proficient in PC applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Chinese Word Processing
