The portfolio manager/analyst will be responsible for managing a portfolio of relative value strategies and as a result will be responsible for:
Performing due diligence on hedge fund managers across a variety of hedge fund strategies
Managing on-going relationships with existing managers
Sourcing new candidates for investment through a variety of sources (contacts, cap intro groups, other managers, etc.)
Monitoring and managing various risks in the portfolio
Collection of information from a variety of sources and detailed analysis in the area of performance reporting, asset allocation, risk measurement and risk management.
Handling administrative tasks related to the portfolio
Assisting wealth managers in the sales process
Preparation of materials for meetings and presentations.
Assisting in research, product development and a variety of other projects.
University degree in economics, commerce, math, physics or a related discipline.
MBA, related graduate degree, CFA candidate and/or CAIA candidate desirable.
Competencies and Skills:
Highly developed analytical and research skills.
Understanding of capital markets, traditional and alternative investment strategies.
Must be very organized and able to multi-task.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with Pertrac, eVestment, Dynamo or related database tools
Strong experience with Bloomberg and Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
5-10 years relevant experience required.
