We currently have an open term full time opportunity for a Senior Portfolio Manager to join QIC's Global Multi Asset (GMA) team in Brisbane. Working closely with the Chief Strategist, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management and oversight of allocated portfolios. Your multi asset class expertise will contribute towards the GMA research programme and the development of portfolio management processes to achieve QIC's strategic objectives to Sustain, Grow and Diversify.
Key accountabilities include;
Responsibility for the investment performance of the allocated portfolio/s.
Responsible for setting the long term asset allocation targets (i.e. SAA) of the portfolios.
Responsible for the day-to-day management of the portfolios. These activities include liquidity management, ensuring the portfolio is positioned appropriately with regard to currency hedging, rebalancing thresholds, manager exposures, risk management (proxy) positions and DAA at all times.
Ensure the portfolios remain within agreed guidelines and compliance limits at all times.
Undertake performance monitoring and attribution, where appropriate.
Oversight of external managers as appropriate.
Oversee due diligence of new strategies and managers, where required.
Communicate portfolio outcomes, risks and future developments internally and externally.
Inform and educate the wider team on portfolio issues.
Actively contribute to the GMA research programme and identify areas for new research that are relevant to client portfolios and have commercial benefit to QIC.
Ensure research is communicated effectively, both internally and externally.
Liaise with industry representatives (eg. investment managers, investment banks, industry groups, etc.) to identify and understand investment opportunities and risks, and gain insights on current market pricing and practices.
Keep abreast of major academic and industry research as well as industry trends across asset classes, asset allocation, portfolio construction, risk management and asset liability research.
Strengthen our communication, both internally and externally. Make an active contribution to internal meetings. Oversee the maintenance and continual improvement of relevant external presentation material.
Promote strong client relationships through effective and professional client engagement, and proactive and transparent communication.
Establish close working relationships with relevant QIC investment teams and other divisions.
Contribute to the commercial objectives of GMA and QIC. In particular, under QIC's Sustain, Grow and Diversify strategy, actively look to broaden GMA's client base.
Build GMA's and QIC's profile in the Australian market.
Contribute to the management of GMA's cost to income ratio to help meet Financial Performance targets.
Build an engaged, collaborative and diverse culture. Provide leadership, and mentoring, where appropriate.
Leadership and management of direct reports, where applicable.
Champion QIC Standards of Excellence and QIC Leadership Blueprint & embed a strong risk culture.

Skills & Experience
Extensive knowledge of global economics and financial markets.
Strong understanding of asset pricing models.
Strong understanding of portfolio construction and other quantitative techniques.
At least 10 years of practical experience in managing multi asset portfolios.
Ability to represent QIC to external parties.
Highly developed communication skills - both written and verbal.
Advanced computing and quantitative skills and software, eg. Matlab.
Knowledge of international data information systems, eg. Datastream, Bloomberg, Factset etc.
