Our client is an established, international growth and private equity firm which is looking to establish a portfolio improvement team in its office in London. The investment team has previously been responsible for working with the portfolio companies, post-acquisition, but the organisation feels a group whose sole focus is working with these assets is now needed. The investment team is of a high calibre and the platform has a strong track record. The culture of the office is entrepreneurial, proactive and supportive. You will be the first external hire in the team and will work closely with one other senior member of the team as well as with the investment team in London and other portfolio experts in other international offices.
You will be involved, hands-on, with all of the assets in the European portfolio
You will focus on both top and bottom line improvements and will also be involved in leading M&A strategy for the assets
You may also be responsible for helping to implement internal structural improvements to these businesses e.g. new IT infrastructure or accounting systems
You will have associate level experience from a blue chip consulting firm or from a similar team in another private equity firm
You will have previous experience of large scale strategic and operational improvement projects
Experience of working on commercial due diligence processes is advantageous but not essential
Fluency in at least one European language is essential
You are likely to have an entrepreneurial mindset and must be a self-starter as you will be the first hire into this team - you will need to be willing to 'roll up your sleeves' and be hands-on
