EO Manager is responsible in setting up the strategy, framework and tools to optimize the information utilization of market news and economic data in order to provide insights and actionable recommendation to help purchasing managers enhance their decision-making process. The job would include working with data dynamically (both internal and external) as well as liaising with stakeholders across function units including Business Units, Finance Department, Treasury Department, Compliance and IT.
Key responsibilities include:
Identify and build tools to capture both short and long-term market developments and recommend actions to Category Managers/ Procurement Managers
Synthesize news (e.g. market and geopolitical events) and quantify data (e.g. macro economic indicators, price data) to come up with tangible and usable decisions for category managers and service owners.
Working with Treasury to evaluate/optimize currencies selection for purchasing decision based upon market trends and internal requirements.
Evaluate and engage third party information providers as necessary for market data and information.
Working with IT department to identify and set up the required structure to enable optimal data and information distribution.
Partner with Finance, Treasury and Tax to evaluate and deploy optimal economic structures and/or entities, including business principals.
Communicates with Category Managers, Service Owners and Global Supply Management leadership.
Escalates decisions and unresolved issues to appropriate parties.
Supervises direct reports as required.
Champions and advocates for the Global Buying Policy. Ensure Compliance.
Other requirements include:
B.S degree in economics or business discipline, with a MBA
Knowledge of the financial market especially in commodity market
Appreciation of risk and strong risk management skill
Strong analytical skills - Currency and commodity market analysis
Project leadership experience
Familiar with treasury operations, financial and material hedging
Meticulous with an eye to details
Positive attitude, can-do, self-starter
Agility and willingness to learn new skills
Effective oral and written communications
Ability to engage and influence across different level especially senior management
Creative and flexible: adapts well to changing circumstances; suggest ways to improve processes
Cross-cultural resourcefulness with experience in working in matrix organization or MNC
