The Credit Rating Advisory group is responsible for providing our Investment Banking clients with advice and services relating to their capital structure, credit profile and credit rating considerations. The group works in tandem with our Investment Banking and Financing Group colleagues to provide integrated corporate finance and financing solutions. At Goldman Sachs, the Credit Rating Advisory group is part of Credit Risk Management and Advisory (CRMA), a department responsible for assessing, managing and advising on credit risks at the Firm. CRMA, which is staffed globally with offices in New York, London, Hong Kong, Tokyo and other major financial centers, leverages its extensive expertise in financial, credit and risk analysis to provide astute and objective judgments to the firm and its clients, in either a transactional or advisory capacity. Members of the Credit Rating Advisory group benefit from this broader integration which provides additional long term career opportunities and diversity across functions. In the context of a very active advisory and financing activity, the team is seeking to recruit a strong candidate to join as an Analyst based in London.
Perform capital structure and rating analysis in the context of M&A, LBOs, restructurings, and other strategic transactions
Estimate potential rating impact of transactions
Develop and audit models applied to credit and rating assessments
Assist clients during initial ratings processes
Develop knowledge of rating agency methodologies, track evolutions of criteria
Establish a network of contacts at the rating agencies
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
1 year work experience with a credit/debt related function (e.g. rating advisory, corporate finance advisory, rating agency, debt capital markets, credit risk management)
Degree in Economics / Finance / Accounting related discipline
Experience of assessing credit worthiness and potential credit rating
Experience in rating agency methodologies, approaches and processes would be a plus
Experience with modelling and financial statements analysis
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and to meet multiple deadlines
Ability to work flexibly as part of multiple teams and autonomously
Ability to juggle changing priorities and a varied workload
