This is a role that would suit someone who has deal experience but now wants to focus on relationship building, rather than the technical aspects of private equity.
Market research – finding potential target companies using thorough research techniques
External relationship building – reaching out to businesses through cold-calling and networking events
Initial due diligence – ensuring target businesses are relevant and ready for investment
Internal relationship management – understanding the requirements of the fund managers in order to target efforts successfully
A good, in-depth knowledge of the UK lower-middle market
Technical ability to perform initial due diligence
A passion for, and knowledge of, technology and tech companies
Able to build effective relationships quickly – this job will not suit a wallflower
