Job Description: J.P. Morgan's Prime Brokerage is a collaborative and complex business, serving hedge fund clients to provide a full spectrum of integrated capabilities, combined with the strength and resources of a leading global bank. The business provides multiple options for financing, clearing, portfolio servicing and event management across multiple asset classes and customized solutions for many of our clients. Our multi-asset class platform extends across execution, financing, clearing, fund administration and asset-servicing products, as well as prime custody and optimized margin solutions. An integral part of the Prime Brokerage business, the Product Development team designs and manages the build and deployment of our competitive and market leading products as well as customized solutions for many of our clients.
Role Overview: The role of Cash PB Product Development is to partner with the broader team to deliver Strategic Cash Prime Brokerage (PB) initiatives to close product gaps vs. competitors, deliver to client needs and expectations, improve client experience and drive internal efficiency.. The ideal candidate is an energetic strategic thinker with deep knowledge of PB who can define, develop, deliver products that end-user satisfaction, support sustainable business growth and deliver positive shareholder value add (SVA).
While the primary focus will be on Cash PB, there is an opportunity to develop broad Prime Broker skills by delivering products in the Synthetics and Financing product space as per need. To this end, cross-product knowledge will be highly desirable.
The candidate should also be resourceful and execution-driven. Strong cross-functional/business collaboration skills are required as they will work across multiple teams within the bank. Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills are a must. Also important are the ability to: synthesize large amounts of information into crisp recommendations and visualizations; present and defend recommendations to a variety of audiences; manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive them to completion effectively.
Responsibilities: As a Product Developer you will work with other Prime Brokerage teams, internal business partners and external vendors to manage, support and grow our product offering. In this role, your responsibilities will include:
Provide strategic leadership to define and document the PB strategy and take accountability to execute the plan as part of a large product team
Gain a comprehensive understanding of existing product capabilities and designing innovative solutions to new opportunities to build a scalable, efficient market leading service offering.
Work closely with other Product Development and Technology teams to ensure successful development and implementation of new products and product / service enhancements
Drives/supports the execution of the business/function agenda by managing the delivery of the product development global agenda
Understand the latest cross-business trends to inform and drive growth and apply those to how we better develop our platform capabilities
Interact with all levels of management and operations to review, understand, document, and communicate business/program needs, risks, constraints, issues and objectives.
Cultivate internal cross-functional relationships to deliver against business/program requirements
Demonstrate ability to effectively work and deliver on a variety of concurrent assignments/tasks of different complexity.
Display efficient work style with attention to detail, organization, and strong sense of urgency.
The successful candidate will possess the following:
Prime Brokerage Industry expertise - knowledge and awareness of the market, cash and synthetic financing landscape.
Proven track record of delivering complex, global products from inception to implementation.
Highly organized; disciplined project management skills (setting deliverables, timelines, budgets, ROI forecasts, etc.). Ability to manage and coordinate multiple streams of work simultaneously and effectively resolve issues and conflicts to insure timely delivery
Self-directed, highly motivated, ability to work independently - knowing what to do, how to get it done and willingness to "roll up your sleeves" to deliver.
Presence, leadership, team player - ability to establish and articulate a strategic vision and engage senior business partners across geographies and functional disciplines and partner effectively to deliver comprehensive end-to-end solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively target messages to different audiences.
The ideal candidate is a creative, innovative team player.
