Robert Half Financial Services are currently recruiting for an Associate/AVP Counterparty Credit Risk role for the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) within an International Bank, located in midtown New York. Our client requires Financial Institutions experience covering at least one of the following, Hedge Funds, Broker Dealers, Banks, Private Equity.
THE ROLE This Associate/AVP Counterparty Credit Risk role will report into the Managing Director of Counterparty Credit Risk for the Financial Institutions Group (FIG). The role will focus on assessing, monitoring and managing credit risk against the bank's financial counterparts.
Assess the credit and financial strength of the bank's financial counterparts by performing fundamental credit analysis using both quantitative and qualitative factors
Review and approve transactions, determine risk appetite and assign credit ratings using an internal rating model
Coordinate with other areas within the Firm (Sales & Trading, Legal & Compliance, Operations, Risk Services, etc.) to ensure appropriate documentation, limits and risk mitigants to protect against a counterpart default and minimize potential losses
Analyze the risks inherent in all products traded
Perform sector analysis in order to assess industry trends, opportunities and risks
Monitor and manage exposures at a counterpart, product and portfolio level acting as the lead of all reporting
Perform due diligence visits/calls with clients in the credit portfolio
3-5+ years Counterparty Credit Risk management experience
Financial Institutions coverage across either Hedge Funds, Banks, Broker Dealers, Private Equity
BA in Business/Finance. MBA/CFA preferred
Highly proficient in Word, Excel/VBA and related Microsoft programs
Strong analytical, presentation, business writing and communication skills
Ability to work independently, proactively and teamwork oriented
Strong interpersonal skills
This Associate/AVP Counterparty Credit Risk role is located in Midtown New York so please only apply if you are able to travel to this location, and have relevant recent experience.
