The position of Benchmark Operations Manager Commodities sits within part of the Content group's first line of defense and Governance structure with its focus being on the operational control functions. This role is a new function within the BCQ (Business Controls & Quality) team which manages all operations associated with European Benchmark identification and monthly IOSCO Benchmark reporting. The role will look to optimize existing processes; ensuring robust benchmark reporting for European Regulation is in place, with adherence to operational business controls and fostering strong relationships with operations teams at Commodity Exchanges for reporting activities.
Assist BCQ Director in the design of operational Benchmark reporting functions.
Project managing the design and build phase of reporting function as S&P Global Platts prepares for regulation.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within BAU and work to implement them with the BCQ Director.
Manage the existing IOSCO monthly Benchmark process.
A senior leader within the content operations group at the forefront of change and operational management.
Work with Senior Operations leadership at the Exchanges externally, to build a relationship around managing the Benchmark regulation scope process.
Be a strong representative for Platts through external exchange presence.
Interact with Global Licensing team for communication around new exchange contract listings.
Continued monitoring for new European exchanges for in scope Benchmark reporting.
Work with Internal teams to ensure adherence to regulation for in scope processes.
Produce month end reporting for Benchmarks to circulate with senior leadership.
Manage the source in scope process for Benchmark regulation within Survey markets.
Work with BCQ team to ensure business adherence to regulations for in scope products and sectors.
Liaise with BCQ Managers globally for escalation when needed.
Be the global Benchmark 'go-to' person for Pricing Content Leadership, Compliance, Legal and Risk groups.
Manage existing Operations resource based in London responsible for the scheduling of recurring operational tasks with front line managers, monitoring and report on completion. These include updates to How to Guides, Source Lists, Methodology & Specification Guides, amongst others.
Monitor the quality of methodology change projects.
Manage the data gathering or documentation requests to support team's analysis or audit reviews.
Builds effective relationships within the team and across the broader business.
Be able to effectively communicate the process to internal and external parties.
Knowledge, Education & Experience:
Candidates should have the following skills:
Bachelor's degree required
Demonstrable financial services industry & managerial experience within exchange operations functions, espcially commodities
Professional verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Reporting background with strong excel skills
Must identify opportunities and take action to build more efficient processes
Must be approachable, collaborative, and have the ability thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment, and be comfortable quickly shifting priorities on short notice
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required
Ability to work with reduced supervision and show leadership
FCA 'approved person' (preferred)
