In this business critical role, you will be primarily responsible for acting as a subject-matter expect in sourcing and transforming external market data into a golden source of reference data for core investment uses such as trading, settlement processing, portfolio monitoring, pre and post-compliance, risk analysis as well as management and performance reporting. You will be required to provide leadership to a team responsible for data management activities, including the investigation on data-related problems, exceptions and data quality issues.
Applying innovative and strategic thinking in assessing the data landscape while executing those strategies to transform the firm's data management capability
Acting as the subject-matter expert to provide support and to consult business units in their usage of data
Providing leadership to a team responsible for data management activities, including the investigation and follow-up on data-related problems, exceptions and data quality issues
Managing escalations from BAU activities and providing guidance in evaluating business requests for data and operational readiness assessment on new products and markets
Identifying and implementing process improvements and initiatives to enhance business capabilities in achieving efficiency and effectiveness
To succeed in this role, you will need to be a self-starter who has a natural curiosity in monitoring data and analytics-related market trends and possess the ability to think modularly with regards to improving processes. You will also need to be motivated in capitalising on opportunities to advance departmental capabilities by leveraging market developments and new technologies. You will possess strong leadership capability with a demonstrated track record of coaching a team towards performance excellence and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
A good university degree with a minimum of seven years' relevant experience in the fund management, banking or data management industry
Strong knowledge of financial instruments and markets
Possess good knowledge of financial instruments and markets
Passion for data and process-oriented analysis with good analytical abilities and creative thinking skills
Familiarity with data models tools such as Enterprise Data Management (EDM), Master Data Management (MDM), SQL, Excel and Access required
