The Senior Analyst in Market Data Solutions plays a key role in the success of the Market Data Solutions team's objectives to align the firm's market and reference data and platform requirements with providers and services that advance Franklin Templeton's performance, operational and risk objectives, while optimizing the total cost of ownership. This includes, strategic planning, managing vendor partner relationships, and the negotiation of business and contract terms.
Reporting to the SVP of Market Data Solutions, the Senior Analyst will work in partnership with the Market Data Solution team, Franklin Templeton's Business Units and with vendor partners to foster alignment between Franklin Templeton's business unit needs and vendor products, services, and activities.This responsibility extends to developing vendor and business unit market data objectives and strategies.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
Establish trust and build strong relationships with Franklin Templeton's Business Units to understand evolving market data strategy.
Partner with business teams offering consultative support and promote the effective use of data and services
Lead vendor selection process and the ongoing management of vendor partnerships
Commercial and contract negotiations with vendors providing intellectual property and market-based services
Benchmark and measure vendor performance through the creation of performance score cards. Lead discussions with vendors in order to improve performance.
Manage vendor strategy meetings to effectively communicate vendor updates, build consensus and drive value-added business solutions.
Ideal candidates will have:
Bachelor's degree required
5+ years market data experience and vendor management
Prior experience andknowledge of market and reference data vendors and services, industry trends and best practices in market data vendor management space
Passion, curiosity and a desire to understand customer and vendor businesses.
Broad knowledge of market data content including across asset types (Equity, FI, derivatives, etc.) and content types (real time pricing, news, fundamental & reference data, terminal products, etc.)
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and effectively with all levels of staff and management
Strong skill and ability in multi-tasking with appropriate prioritization
Ability to effectively respond to a dynamically changing work environment
Familiarity with vendor contract process and service level agreements
