Ensure that Group Compliance (ex FCC) initiatives are effectively and sustainably implemented in the countries and regions by:
partnering with Global Head, Central Compliance; and Global Head, Compliance, Business and Functions Advisory to prioritise and sequence implementation of Group initiatives; and
working with Regional Heads, Compliance to drive effective strategy for implementation including soliciting feedback on any local issues or priorities
challenging the relevance and priorities of Group initiatives to be launched in countries and regions
Ensure Group Compliance (ex FCC) teams make specialist resources available to countries and regions as and when required
Track, report (and escalate, as required) progress on implementation of Group priorities in the countries and regions
Build a continuous improvement process (between Group and regions) to facilitate implementation of Group priorities in the countries and regions
Ensure an effective central team to manage and deliver the agenda of this role
Exclusion: This role is not responsible for implementation of FCC initiatives in countries and regions.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Track/report regional progress on implementation of Group initiatives
Undertake the reviews of country frameworks on instruction from Global Head, Regions Compliance and Regional Head, Compliance, ASA
Own, develop and embed protocols for prioritisation and implementation of regional deliverables
Leadership & Management
Provide leadership to the regional Compliance network as part of the regional senior Compliance management team
Lead or influence significant programmes of work in support of Group Compliance objectives
Assist in the development of an effective internal compliance culture by promoting the benefits of ethical business conduct and the benefits of compliance
Knowledge Development and Information Management
Identify and communicate, across the business within the region, relevant changes in policies, procedures and practices - recommending amendments as required
Partner closely with the Group Compliance and their teams, ensuring there is a consistent message to country and regional Compliance, and dealing with country issues as they come up
Leadership, Budget, People and Talent
Set and implement the vision, strategy, direction and leadership for the Regional Strategy and Alignment team consistent with supporting the Group's strategic direction and growth aspirations.
Promote the culture and practice of compliance with compliance and regulatory standards (including conducting business within regulatory requirements, and to high ethical standards).
Embed the Group's values and Group and Regional Codes of Conduct in the Regional Strategy and Alignment team to ensure adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations among employees form part of the culture.
Responsible for determining adequate resources needed to sufficiently and independently perform duties objectively, to support sustainable business growth and adequately address regulatory risks.
Provide leadership, management and coaching to direct reports to ensure they are highly engaged and performing to their potential for the long term, ensure suitable succession and staffing to support business continuity.
Responsible for delivery of the functional budget and requirements within the authorities and constraints as defined in the Group Budget and Delegated Authorities Manual.
Align with global HR processes to in the areas of resourcing, talent development, performance management, and learning and employee engagement. Ensure all mandatory Group and functional training is completed by employees within required timelines.
Maintain strong internal and external network to enable collaboration, additional resourcing or review of practices.

Qualifications and Skills
Substantial experience gained within the Financial Services sector with a strong understanding of international regulatory frameworks and requirements
Strong implementation and project management skills with prior experience of delivering firm wide programmes
Good judgment enabling the provision of sound advice in difficult areas of law, regulation and practice and the proactive management of compliance and regulatory risk.
Strong business acumen (including ability to assess risk and appropriate levels of return), strong leadership qualities, excellent interpersonal skills and multi cultural awareness and sensitivity.
A natural aptitude for co-ordination of both people and projects and experience of conducting work successfully across different geographies.
Sound judgement on business practices, regulatory relationship management and reputational risk.
Exemplary integrity, independence and resilience.
Personal authority with proven ability to establish relationships and exert influence at the most senior levels of the Group, with regulators and with other external stakeholders.
