Develop and maintain a data protection framework for the Group
Maintain and drive efficient communication with the Groups senior management team in relation to data protection legislation.
Present and lead sections of the monthly Compliance Forum meetings with senior management
Advise management in undertaking assessments of new products and system and process changes to assess the potential data protection risks and challenges.
Keep up to date on all relevant data protection legislative and regulatory developments, and analyse the impact on the Group
Provide advice, guidance & training to other compliance colleagues as required on data protection developments
Monitor upstream regulatory developments and support the continuous assessment of upstream regulatory risk
Network effectively amongst peers and contribute constructively in various for a re upstream regulation while of course maintaining a good relationship with all regulatory authorities and represent the Group at relevant meetings (as required)
3rd level Degree in Law, Business, Finance Economics or a related discipline
A good understanding of data protection law and regulation and how to apply it in a business environment, readily commanding confidence as an expert in your professional field
Good understanding of data protection & compliance risks across the banking industry
A relevant professional qualification (legal, ACOI or relevant data protection qualification) or working towards same
Strong influencing & communications skills and has the confidence to deal with management at all levels
A team player, who can react positively to very demanding challenges and tight deadlines, without loss of accuracy
The Compliance Data Protection role provides a candidate with a great opportunity to demonstrate their skills knowledge and ability to lead and protect a leading company with the interpretation of current regulations and the effect of the forthcoming Data Protection Regulations to the wider group.
