What is the opportunity? The position of HANA Database Administrator located in London is a part of the Global Database team with primary responsibility to install and support HANA landscape hosted on Linux to ensure optimal performance, availability and efficiency. This position requires leadership qualities for building best practices around database performance optimization of HANA and achieve continuous improvement through SQL tuning that will require good working knowledge in HANA modelling and query design . Experienced and proven technology leadership skills to play effective solution owner role to enable new and evolving technologies.
What will you do?
Planning, installation, and maintenance of HANA database software; measurement of HANA database performance and tuning
Knowledgeable in System-level configuration to optimize performance; Diagnose and troubleshoot problems
Interface with developers and data modelers for performance and data access requirements
Development of Technical Security Standards (TSS) and obtain approval from internal compliance teams
Script and document procedures for the HANA database environment
Performance tuning for system wide performance issues; periodic review of capacity and recommend capacity; resolve support issues involving production systems
Script and automate HANA database refreshes from production to non-production environments
Support other database platforms like Oracle, MSSQL, Postgres and other new database technologies
What do you need to succeed? Must-have
SAP Certified Technology Specialist (Edition 2014) - SAP HANA Installation (E_HANAINS142) or later
Experienced Database Administrator with SAP HANA Administration experience
Strong understanding of SAP systems, in memory database technology as well as hardware
Experience with database high availability technologies
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication
Experience supporting mission critical database systems
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Computer Science.
Investment banking experience
Working knowledge of other RDBMS technologies like Oracle, MSSQL, Postgres and others
