About Global Transaction Banking The Global Transaction Banking (GTB) team is responsible for supporting large global Multinational Corporations and Financial Institutions with their banking requirements. The primary product set consists of cash management, liquidity, trade and working capital finance, asset finance, and foreign exchange.
We work as one global team, in a fully integrated manner, with relationship directors covering clients both at a parental and subsidiary level. To achieve this end, we have GTB teams established in, United Kingdom, Europe (France, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Ireland, Germany and The Netherlands), Middle East and North America.
Overall purpose of Role:
Supporting assigned Relationship Directors (RDs) with relationship management, business development, product knowledge, sales research and client acquisition
Interpreting the diverse needs of our clients and working with various business partners to provide tailored solutions
Ensuring all client information is accurate, up-to-date and easily accessible
Building relationships with key stakeholders across the business
Identifying opportunities to improve our products, processes and service to clients
Performing required controls to help manage/ minimise risk within the business
Supporting assigned Relationship Directors with fulfilment of client on-boarding, business and credit approvals and client planning in partnership with business partners
Key Accountabilities and Skills required: Key specific accountabilities Relationship Support: 85%
Develops a good working relationship with the fulfilment areas to ensure smooth co-ordination and completion of all tasks
Handles client issues and any problems arising which can cause customer dissatisfaction and takes quick action to address them
Ensures client complaints are handled effectively and within Barclays policy and targets
Leads by example and demonstrates excellent client focus at all times
Develops and maintain relationships with key customer contacts acting as principal point of contact in Relationship Director's absence
Develops and maintain contacts with specialists in other areas of the Group, co-ordinating introductions to and from these areas and support the Relationship Director in joint meetings
Actively seek out opportunities to grow income and / or free up Relationship Director's time
Ensures a robust customer contact strategy is in place
Preparation and implementation of strategic campaigns
Attends meetings with clients, rating agencies and professional advisers with and without the RD
Hold regular meeting with RD to review pipeline, financial performance and client activities
Research current & new markets, identify target names, prepare client strategies
Business Support: 15%
Play a key role in ensuring all client information is accurate and kept up to date e.g. client records, call reports and pipeline information
Work with KYC Operation team to obtain all relevant KYC documentation
Represent business in projects that impact on business as required
Ensure compliance with mandatory Risk policies and procedures relating to governance, regulatory compliance (including Financial Crime), operational and legal risk
Stakeholder management and leadership
Work closely with and build strong relationships within Coverage, Product and Business Management teams and cross Barclays group
Ensure key stakeholders are engaged, including partners in functions; Compliance, Operations, Service, Marketing, IT, Finance, HR, Credit Risk, Client Servicing, etc
Working with the operations team to ensure that processes and controls are effective and to ensure that transaction turnarounds are within committed timeframe
Influencing across all levels of the organisation
Acting as a role model visibly and consistently behaving in ways that reinforce Barclays Values, encouraging others to do the same
Your Skills and Qualifications will include
An understanding of Corporate Banking products and services
Experience in a control and rigour environment, including risk management
Strong interpersonal and multi-tasking skills
Experience in managing internal stakeholders
Exposure to working closely with cross-border teams
Knowledge of the credit application process and credit risk policies and procedures
Strong Mandarin proficiency in both withing and speaking
Experience of working in a regulated (banking & financial services) environment
Local market knowledge and key players.
Comprehensive understanding of the impact of economic environment on customer's needs and business.
Comprehensive knowledge of mandatory risk policies and procedures relating to credit conformance and regulatory, operational and legal risk.
