The Role We are looking for an Assistant Vice President/Analyst to join the Structured Finance Research team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and/or assisting on various research projects across structured finance teams and other research functions globally, providing constructive feedback and suggestions on their research project proposals, and offering data and technical assistance to researchers with an aim to facilitate or enhance new and existing research. The role also provides opportunities to take the lead in creating high profile research publications, particularly on cross-sector topics. The role is ideal for candidates who have solid relevant experience in specific structured finance sectors, including quantitative analysis, and are seeking to advance their career by expanding their knowledge into other asset classes, playing an active role in high level cross sector research initiatives, and conducting independent credit research. The candidate will have the opportunity to make a strong impact in enhancing research effectiveness and consistency, and communicate his/her view on current market and credit trends across asset classes through the writing of insightful research.
Manage and coordinate various cross sector research projects to timely completion and high quality delivery in accordance with our research missions and strategies
Play an active role in evaluating and coordinating new research proposals, as well as providing constructive feedback and suggestions for improvement
Author and contribute to research, write special comments on developing credit trends in the structured finance market, as well as aid in communicating our credit insights to market participants
Collaborate with ratings teams and other research functions in research idea generation and research publication
Work closely with other team members to develop impactful research
Provide data and technical support for structured finance research
Conduct credit rating analytic work as necessary
Moody's Structured Finance Research Content team is responsible for coordinating and contributing research contents across structured finance asset classes and for supporting the consistent delivery to our customers of timely and impactful research. The team primarily focuses on Americas' structured finance research contents, but also cover research in other regions as well as liaise with other research functions within Moody's.
Our research covers a wide range of topics including reports that review the impact of news and events on structured finance transactions, thematic development and comparisons across sectors, and foundational research including periodic sector level updates and overview.
A Master's degree in finance, economics, statistics or any such related disciplines, with strong quantitative skills
Seven years of relevant work experiences in credit or quantitative finance, and a minimum five years of work experiences in structured finance
Very strong project organization skills, demonstrate leadership and discipline in project completion
Creative, clear and outside-the-box thinker with sharp judgment and intuition
Excellent interpersonal skills, with a high priority on team work
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong research and writing experience is a big plus
