The individual will work within the Global Technology Solution Design and Architecture Capability Group to provide analysis and architecture design solutions across the Investment Technology platform. The candidate will need to be a good communicator, with strong analysis skills across all Investment and Operational functions and must have excellent cross product knowledge (equities, fixed income, multi-asset, OTC Derivatives etc.).
Experienced business analysis experience within asset management, specifically across the Investment Platform (order management, trading, confirmation, settlement, accounting etc.)
Strong business analysis skills, including business process re-engineering, requirements gathering and documentation
Strong presentation and communication skills
Experience of solution design including the production of architecture diagrams
Ability to produce senior management level documentation
Experience of working in an agile delivery methodology
Ability to work autonomously and on own initiative
Able to work collaboratively and globally as part of a targeted implementation team
Can make key judgements when required and be able to justify the decision
Capable of working on multiple small initiatives at the same time
Able to draw effectively on external teams, where appropriate, in order to achieve the desired outcomes
Willing to challenge openly and constructively
Reporting into the Capability Group Lead for Investment Platform Solution Design and Architecture
Responsible for the delivery of business analysis and solution design across the Investment Technology Platform
Adherence to Schroders Global Technology directives, including ways of working
Working closely with delivery / implementation teams of Global Technology along with the business units the function supports
Contribute to high level analysis of proposed epics to identify scope, size and value
Work with Capability Owners and Leads to break epics down into features
Contribute to defining and continuously improving best practice for epic business analysis
Responsible for business analysis, process solution, architecture solution and test support
Capture and documentation of emerging risks and issues relating to the front office teams
Initial issue impact analysis and escalation to senior management within both the business and Global Technology
Provide technical skills as and when required in order to produce accurate analysis and timely reporting of data (mainly using Word, Excel, Visio / iServer)
Competencies & Experience:
Detailed understanding of the asset management business, specifically across the Investment Platform
Experience of systems related business change
Knowledge and experience of delivering change using Agile methodologies, preferably SAFe
Good software skills to manipulate & present information in PowerPoint and Excel
Data analysis skills using Excel
Ability to produce detailed architecture using Visio or equivalent tools
Experience of working with global colleagues and stakeholders and sensitivity to cultural differences, time zones etc.
Proactive, self motivated, able to work using own initiative
Systematic and structured approach to problem solving
Good at time management and able to work to deadlines
Team player with good communication skills
