Risk Management Group works closely with our business partners to manage the bank's risk exposure by balancing its objective to maximise returns against an acceptable risk profile. We partner with origination teams to provide financing, investments and hedging opportunities to our customers. To manage risk effectively and run a successful business, we invest significantly in our people and infrastructure.
Partner with team members and stakeholders in Singapore and overseas locations to identify opportunities to use data analytics to generate insights on operational risk, and work on the delivery of the data analytics, including analytical approaches, data and technology requirements.
Analysing the operational risk data and reports produced by the operational risk management (ORM) system and tools to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency enhancements.
Participating in the enterprise Governance Risk & Compliance system project to define requirements relating to data, processes and reporting dashboards.
Present key findings to senior management and stakeholders with actionable recommendations.
Degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent.
6 to 8 years of experience in data mining on large amount of data, building and implementing analytical models in financial institutions, with exposure to operational risk and control areas. Prior experience in operational risk management, banking operations, middle office, or business and data analysis is preferred.
Programming experience in SAS, R, or other statistical software. Proficient in SQL.
Good mathematical and statistics background, with ability to translate business problems and requirements into mathematical formulations using data analytical tools.
Analytical and able to identify key themes and trends from data and information. Able to present analysis in a manner accessible by non-statisticians through data visualisation techniques.
Good knowledge of banking products and processes in different businesses and/pr operations (e.g. corporate banking, private banking, treasury & markets) is an advantage.
Strong writing and communication skills.
