The Technology Operations (Tech Ops) and Intellectual Property (IP) Group Legal team is looking for a team lead to grow and develop its existing team to help DBS build a joyful digital banking services for its customers across the Asia market place.
The team lead fulfilling this role will work closely with the Head of Legal & Compliance , Tech Ops, Support Units and IP to support and work on all legal and compliance related matters to support DBS Bank's Group Tech Ops and Group Sourcing Functions. Registration, enforcement and prosecution IP related matter management will also be required to support DBS' IP portfolio.
As a team lead, you will lead, manage, and develop a team of Tech Ops and IP lawyers
As a proactive and highly commercial lawyer you will have the ability to provide legal advice to a high standard on a wide range of technology related legal issues and manage a complex dynamic workload
Constructing and negotiating large-scale technology and sourcing transactions, concentrating on international and domestic software application development and maintenance, technology infrastructure, general information technology, and financial services business process outsourcings
Handle cross-border contractual negotiations and contribute to the drafting of commercial tenders and evaluation and assessment of supplier responses
Help identify and protect intellectual property and DBS/Customer confidential data, manage related banking privacy and banking secrecy compliance matters
Advising on complex software licensing and open source software related legal and compliance matters
Have a detailed working understanding of data protection laws and operation of data analytics and its impact on group sourcing transactions
Ensure compliance with current DBS sourcing and outsourcing policies and procedures and identify areas for improvement
Manage contentious matters related to technology and IP operations from a regional perspective
Be able to support the drafting and development of joint venture, collaboration, partnership agreements and advise on M&A tech/IP related matters
Understand and advise on local regulatory requirements related to technology sourcing and IP asset management
Working understanding of cloud services such as IaaS, PaaS and SaaS.
Working understanding of Lean, Agile, DevOPs technology operating models and Customer Centric Technology Design principles (i.e. Scrum, Disciplined Agile Delivery Models and HCD)
Assist in the resolution of customer issues that are related to technology operation matters
Review and approve new digital product initiatives and support the new product approval processes to the extent such products raise technology issues such as use of cloud based services
Support the risk and compliance functions in developing and managing the legal and compliance issues related to intra-group outsourcing and sourcing agreements
Provide Group level legal support to DBS' technology operation service hubs in Singapore and India
Manage external counsel and external counsel legal budgets
Work co-operatively and strategically with other legal and compliance colleagues across the Group to ensure the Tech Ops and IP legal team empower our stakeholders and colleagues to become more savvy and self-sufficient on technology matters
A qualified lawyer with a solid academic and training background
Strong English language skills
Typically, ten or more years of PQE experience, (preferably with training in a high caliber International Law Firm Technology, Multimedia, Telco practice or experience at a multinational company in-house)
A strong team player who thrives in a collaborative working environment
Demonstrates initiative and adds value to their stakeholders and colleagues when advising on legal risk management issues
Has the ability to quickly and succinctly communicate their legal advice on complex matters to enable stakeholders and colleagues to easily understand the core legal risks and issues they need to manage
